Construyendo con una Famillia Local - Cusco

(4 Días / 3 Noches) - Consultar Tarifa

The poorest  families in small communities are located in the heart of the Andes near Cusco. Travel Group with the orientation and help of a local tour operator, have prepared a budget based on the needs of the houses in order to provide a proper shelter. Passengers will restore or help with some of the following activities:

  • House cleaning.
  • New roof.
  • New beds and bed clothes.
  • Wall repairing with adobe.
  • New wiring for light.
  • New kitchen or kitchen repairing.
  • New door and windows. 

Passengers will send the money to Peru, at least 2 weeks prior to arrival, so our representative in the country has enough time to buy all materials needed to restore the house. All chosen houses will be restored under the same budget US$ 500 per house. Family members will help in the restoration and will provided extra items which can be easily obtained by them, such as water, adobe and others. If clients have enough time they would participate on buying the materials prior to the activity.

Minimum : 4 passengers
Maximum : 12 passengers per group

Itinerary description
Day 1: MEET FAMILY TO HOUSE RESTORATION
After breakfast, passengers will be transferred from the selected community, where we will proceed to meet the local family and then the vehicle that comes from Cusco with all the materials requested for the house restoration. Then we will proceed to carry all materials to the house that will be restored. There we will meet other locals who will help us with the restoration. That day we will start with the cleaning of the house, getting out everything that the family may consider unnecessary for them. We will take every item that will not be replaced to a safe place where it will be stored during the time our job will take. A box lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, we will get back to the campsite or home, where the group will plan the activities for the next day. Dinner will be served at the campsite. For passengers not taking the camping or home stay service, passengers will be transferred back to their hotel and dinner will not be included. (Box lunch / dinner).

Day 2: WALLS AND WINDOWS RESTORATION
After an early breakfast, passengers will hike to the house they will restore. They will start repairing the walls, doors and windows of the house. A box lunch will be provided. They must end with this task that same day. Once back in the campsite/home, they will plan the activities for the next day. Dinner will be served at campsite. For passengers not taking the camping or home stay service, passengers will be transferred back to Ollantaytambo and dinner will not be included. (Breakfast /Box lunch/Dinner).

Day 3: WIRING AND NEW FURNITURE
After an early breakfast, we will hike to our working area, where we will start checking all restored adobes have dried well and that everything is ready to continue with the new wiring and furniture instalation. A box lunch will be provided. We have to end with our task that same day, and clean all the working to finally give the owners the key of their restored house. At night, passengers will make an offering to Mother Earth by participating in a proper “Pachamama” ceremony near the family house. Dinner will be served at the campsite/house. Passengers not taking the camping or home stay service will be transferred back to Ollantaytambo and dinner will not be included. (Breakfast/ Box lunch/ Dinner).

Day 4: COMMUNITY / OLLANTAYTAMBO (Only for Passengers taking the Camping/home stay service)
After an early breakfast at campsite, passengers will be transferred to the next activity or town. (Breakfast). Note about lunches: If the house which is going to be restored is located near restaurant, we will include lunch at the restaurant every day.

Includes:
For the camping version we will include camping gear including 2 man 3 season tents. Home stay includes a 2----4 people room.
Sleeping mattresses.
Camping, cooking equipment.
Cooks.
All meals mentioned as included in the itinerary (B: Breakfast, BL: Box Lunch, L: Lunch, D: Dinner). 
Professional English speaking guide, Local guide for community service.
Assistance to buy and transport all materials needed for community service.
Pachamama ceremony on day 3.
Transfers (for non----camping version, for non camping version on the 1st day and on the last day)

Note: Our local guides are members of community; they do not speak English but have the skills and knowledge of local labor work to accomplish these activities. He will organize the group in smaller groups and will help them with the project.

Hotels in Ollantaytambo.
